Reception + Year 1 (ages 4–6)

Football for Reception and Year 1 (ages 4 to 6)

Once children start school, they're ready for more. In our Reception and Year 1 classes they work more independently, spend much more time with the ball at their feet, and play their first proper matches.

What they learn

Sessions last 50 minutes and are led by our coaches. Groups take age, experience and current ability into account, so every child is challenged at the right level.

  • Dribbling, with plenty of time on the ball
  • Their first matches: 1v1s, 2v2s and small-sided games
  • Using space: where to stand and where to run
  • The first ideas of passing and playing with a teammate
